One Moment
Kaka walked slowly towards the room. He hoped with all his heart that the person he was expecting would be there. It felt like the corridor was too long, but finally he arrived to the wooden door. His hands were nervous, he didn’t know what to do if he was there. Would he just say hi, would he hug him, maybe even … he didn’t know what his reaction would be, would he be shocked? Embarrassed? Happy? Surprised? Kaka was confused.
Then he had doubts, maybe he shouldn’t have come here. But he left him a note, and he told him about his true feelings … Kaka couldn’t just ignore the facts, and not come to face his … ‘friend’.
Kaka had to admit to him his feelings too, he shouldn’t be embarrassed, there’s nothing wrong, there will never be.
But he had to realize the truth in front of him sooner or later, he’s not with him anymore, he’s living in a totally far and different place than his, they will not be able to meet, only for a few days every year. Kaka can’t bare the distance all this time, he can’t take this pressure, he can’t stop feeling depressed and broken.
why did he had to leave milan? why did he had to leave me?
The words of sadness kept repeating themselves in his mind, over and over. He couldn’t stop getting hurt by them; the wounds are too deep to go away.
He took a very deep breath to stop the tears from coming down his face. His hands were clutched in a fist as he stood facing the door. He was so afraid of what might happen inside, he was afraid to face the decisions that he will have to make, or the options that will be left for him. He didn’t want to think about it anymore, he just wanted to see him again for one short moment, even a glance, anything to put an end to his current sadness.
He extended his hand towards the knob, trying to shake away the feelings that are hitting him at that moment, trying to forget what happened, and what will happen. He was just about to push the door open, when it opened by itself.
“Ricky?” Andriy said quietly.
Kaka didn’t want to speak, he just wanted to look into Sheva’s eyes forever, not wanting his gaze to turn away.
Sheva took Kaka’s hand, pressed it in his tightly, then he hugged him, letting out all the sadness, depression, anger, and love. They both didn’t want to let go, they didn’t want to think that they will have to be apart, they didn’t want to know what’s wrong and what’s right, all they wanted was for them to be together in this moment …
